Protect Your Pet’s Heart
When it comes to heart health, your pet’s needs are just like yours. Plenty of exercise and a healthy diet are keys to a long and enjoyable life. But normal aging and heart disease can still occur. And sometimes these conditions need further diagnostic treatment as well as emergency pet care. Pima Pet Clinic is Tucson’s solution when these veterinary cardiology issues arise.
Diagnosing Pet Heart Problems
Echocardiography services are available at Pima Pet Clinic on a referral and emergency basis. An echocardiogram is an ultrasound image showing the heart and surrounding structures. It’s an excellent diagnostic tool because it is noninvasive and typically requires no sedation.
Echocardiography can diagnose the following pet health issues:
- Valve abnormalities
- Heart dilation
- Heart muscle thickening
- Congenital diseases
- Heart tumors
Your Role in Your Pet’s Heart Care
We have excellent diagnostic tools at Pima Pet Clinic, but the best diagnostic tools in the world are in your home: your family and you. No one is more familiar with your pet’s normal behavior than you and your family.
That’s why we encourage you to let us know about changes in play, endurance levels, coughing/wheezing, and appetite. Sometimes these are indicators of a heart condition or just a sign that you need to consider senior pet care for your dog or cat.
